Traiteur de la Terre (Healer of the Land) is the first known female Chief of her southern Louisiana Tribe, leading her community on the frontlines of the climate crisis. A lifelong coastal Louisiana resident, grandmother, and owner of Dardar’s Bayou Plant Nursery, LLC, she blends entrepreneurship with natural wellness to educate others on reconnecting with nature. As a dedicated cultural and environmental preservation leader, she co-founded the First People’s Conservation Council of Louisiana. Her extensive policy work includes serving as the inaugural Chairwoman of the Governor’s Native American Commission and acting as the sole Indigenous representative on the Louisiana Governor's Climate Initiatives Task Force.
