Our enduring legacy

The Grand Caillou/Dulac Tribes peoples continue to reside in our ancestral village in Terrebonne Parish, along the Louisiana Gulf Coast. The community descends from the Biloxi, Chitimacha, Choctaw, Atakapa, and Acolapissa tribes. Though traditionally sustained by hunting, trapping, fishing, and farming, these practices are now threatened by rapid land loss and environmental changes. While drastic environmental shifts have made traditional ways of life less sustainable, we continue to adapt and build resilience through relationship-building and knowledge sharing.

We maintain our Federal status as Treaty descendants that also have State Recognition, and own a separate 501(c)(3) organization called the Grand Caillou/Dulac Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw, Inc.
